Rapture Jewelry Metals:
Stainless Steel
Our Stainless-steel items are of the highest quality. Tarnish-free, Shiny, durable, recyclable and made to last. These items can be worn every day and even get wet! without the color fading. Containing hypoallergenic properties, it is unlikely to cause adverse skin reactions.
Gold Plated
Is the least expensive alternative when it comes to jewelry and will require extra care. Gold plated jewelry is made from a process called electroplating. It’s a process that uses an electric current to form a thin metal coating of gold over a base of brass, copper, nickel or silver.
Gold-Filled
Gold Filled Jewelry consists of 2-3 layers of solid gold (bonded or pressed) with a brass or silver base metal. Gold filled jewelry is typically a better alternative to gold plated jewelry. It won’t tarnish and it’s much more durable.
Gold Vermeil
There is another type of gold plating that is called Vermeil. Vermeil is an item that is made of sterling silver and plated with a thin layer of 2.5 microns of gold, with a karat higher than 10k. Gold Vermeil can last several years with daily usage.
Sterling Silver
In its purest state, silver can be as soft as gold and therefore it is generally alloyed with another metal, usually copper, to add strength. Any piece of silver or sterling silver must be 92.5 percent pure and marked as such to be considered real silver. Often, silver will take on a worn looking finish because of a response that happens the wearer’s skin so before purchasing a piece of silver jewelry make sure that you are not allergic to silver. Silver requires more maintenance than any other metal. Tarnishing occurs because silver reacts to pollutants in the air, which is then exacerbated by moisture and heat. Clean your sterling silver jewelry with a soft 100% cotton (nub free) cloth or flannel cloth and gently rub off any excess makeup. Remember, silver is a very soft metal and you can scratch it if you aren't careful so don't rub it too briskly.
Alloy Metals (Brass and Copper)
These items will tarnish sooner than later. Avoid water and chemicals like those in perfume, lotion, body oils, etc. Remove before bed and showering; Store items in faux velvet pouch.
Euphoria Jewelry:
Solid Gold
Solid Gold Jewelry is a piece of jewelry made entirely of gold -- inside and out. It’s the most expensive and durable among the other types of fine gold jewelry. Gold jewelry doesn’t tarnish, but it can be dirtied or dulled by the oils in your skin, body lotion, makeup or other substances. There are lots of products out there that promise to clean gold, but you can do it easily with mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Platinum
Platinum is the most precious of white metals. Platinum is over 20 times rarer than gold. It takes 10 tons of ore to get one ounce of platinum, whereas gold takes 3 tons of ore for one ounce of gold. Both platinum and silver have the appearance of a white metal, but platinum is extremely durable and resists tarnishing. Platinum will never wear out.
Gemstones
Gemstones are quite literally hard as rock; buy they can be damaged from careless handling and negligence. Remember, even the hardest gemstone variety can be vulnerable to breakage if it has inclusions that weaken the crystal structure. Exercise common sense: if you have a ring set with a softer gem variety or an included stone, take it off before strenuous exercise. Even the hardest gem of them all, the diamond, can shatter in two with a single well-connected blow.
